Allendale Terrace is one of the most highly desirable communities in St. Petersburg, with its winding brick cobblestone roads and oversized homes on extra large lots. The Allendale Terrace neighborhood is known for being on very high ground where flood insurance is not required, with giant oak trees and homes built mostly in the 1920s and 1930s, and Allendale Park.
74 homes were built prior to World War II, with 186 built from the beginning of the war to 1960, and approximately 50 homes since then. Allendale Terrace is considered by many to be the finest non-waterfront areas of St. Petersburg. Allendale Terrace roots go back to a 1920’s hurricane. A picture of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club underwater published in the St. Petersburg Times caused interest in waterfront properties to slow as Snell was developing at that time. Cade B. Allen purchased the 160 acres of high ground that we now call Allendale Terrace.
Homes in Allendale Terrace in general sell between $300,000 to over $1,000,000.
The Boundaries of Allendale Terrace are 34th to 42nd Avenues North from 7th to M.L. King (9th) Streets North plus the area between 34th and 38th Avenues North from M.L. King (9th) Street to Haines Road.
